Fair
The
33rd Manila International Book Fair was held last September 12-16,
2012. When we attended the event, we were surprised by the number of people who
filled both the inside and outside of the venue which was the first floor of
the SMX Convention Center located near the Mall of Asia (MoA).
Although we were unable to go there
all at the same time, we all found time within those four days to spare to be
able to sneak a peak into the world of book lovers, enthusiasts and even the
authors who went there. During our visits, some of us saw Lourd De Veyra, Ramon
Bautista and Tado Jimenez. We were stunned to see the community of Filipinos
who not only were interested in reading but also those who were fans of some of
the authors.
It’s sad though that we only found out about the Manila
International Book Fair this year because of this class. On the bright side
though, we were able to see and maybe buy books but also, we will now look
forward to attending it next year and hopefully the succeeding years as well.
